2015 Kitchen Remodeling Trends

Dec 18, 2014

The Kitchen Designers at Kitchen Kraft reviewed their last year of kitchen remodels and created a list of the top kitchen remodeling trends for 2015.

Transitional Design – This type of kitchen is on the rise.  Many homeowners want some elements of classical design, but mixed with modern conveniences.  An apron-front sink with a dishwasher is one example of transitional design.

Painted Kitchen Cabinets – These are still popular.  White and gray kitchen cabinets with white and gray countertops are a top trend for 2015.  Also a hot trend in kitchen remodeling is having an island in a different color than the perimeter cabinets, or stained cabinets with painted cabinets and different countertops.

Open Floor Plans – This style is continuing to be a must have for 2015.  Many homeowners are realizing that the kitchen is the main entertaining space and removing walls for a more open concept.  Larger islands with seating and coffered ceiling are being added to tie together spaces.

Hardwood Floors – A must have with most kitchen remodeling projects.  Hardwood flooring throughout the first level is becoming more common since most homeowners are looking for and open concept continuity.  There is an inviting warmth with hardwood floors that is unparalleled.
