Certified Designers At The Columbus Build Remodel and Landscape Expo
Why Our Designers Are Certified
Certification as a designer gives assurance to the public that this individual is devoted to the craft of designing kitchens and baths and identifies the designer as an industry leader and expert. We want our clients to trust that our professional designers are the best of the best, highly skilled and trained, and will do an outstanding job on their next kitchen design project. Our clients want to know without a doubt that money they spend for a designer will be well-spent. That is what hiring a certified designer at Kitchen Kraft promises—complete satisfaction, quality work, and expert advice.
Why Do Certified Designers Need Guidelines?
Guidelines followed in the certification process ensure that the designer is able to recognize the importance of consumer health, safety and welfare in kitchen and bath design. Also, these guidelines can be used as benchmarks to assess a designerâs work and allows them to be tested in core competencies related specifically to kitchen and bath design. As a consumer, you should be happy that our certified designers follow and meet these guidelines, as this leads to higher quality professionals available for you.
NKBA Certification
NKBA certifications are based on written examinations and extensive industry experience. Hiring a designer with an NKBA certification lets you rest easy knowing your designerâs skills have been assessed objectively and that the designer is committed to constant improvement by participating in continuing education. There are three levels to the NKBA certification:
- AKBD(c) Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer
- CBD(c) or CBE(c) Certified Kitchen Designer or Certified Bath Designer
- CMKBD(c) Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer.
How Do Designers Become Certified?
All NKBA certifications for Kitchen & Bath Designers require at least:
- One year of experience within the kitchen/bath industry (kitchen/bath design, space planning, sales, project management, drafting, manufacturing, cabinet design, installation, decorative plumbing/hardware, sales, etc.).
- One year of related industry experience.
- 30 hours of NKBA professional development courses or NKBA approved college coursework.
- 2 professional affidavits.
- AKBD academic exam.
